| Instructor Bio: | Meet Your Instructor – Catherine “Cathy” Harnish With over 15 years of quilting experience, Cathy has become a cherished presence in our quilting community. She combines thoughtful instruction with a lovely sense of calm, making piecing together blocks as joyful as sharing a freshly pressed quilt with friends. What Cathy brings to every class: A gentle, patient teaching style—perfect for both beginners and intermediate learners. Deep knowledge of foundational and advanced techniques: from precise ¼ seam sewing to more intricate methods like flying geese, half-square triangles, and gentle curves. Expertise in fabric selection, design layouts, quilting finishes, and binding. A knack for troubleshooting—all those little hiccups (uneven seams, unbalanced blocks, quilting tension) don’t stand a chance with her guidance. A bit more about Cathy: She’s led dozens of beginner-to-intermediate workshops, inspiring students to gain confidence and explore new quilting horizons. Her own quilts have been featured in local shop galleries and admired at regional quilt shows. Cathy is known for her enthusiasm—always ready to explain a concept twice, share a new way to trim triangles, or cheer on a student’s finished project. Whether you're picking up your first rotary cutter or setting in precise quilt block points, Cathy is excited to help you discover—and fall even deeper in love with—quilting. |
